WATER -- WEALTH OR WASTE

An interesting story of water, how in some cases it has proved an enemy to man, how in many more cases it is our friend and how life without it would be impossible. The books tells the history of water from early ages to the present time. The great irrigation systems of today are but an elaboration of the same principles practiced by the early Egyptians and Chinese. The effects of water on plants, animals and fish. The dangers and control of floods. The book is written in a pleasant, readable style with a few anecdotes to punctuate the pace. A definite step forward for the Pryors.
