THE MYSTERY OF THE RUINED ABBEY

Scotch and American mix well in this adventure of Long Islander Chip and Highlander Neil as they quip their way through to the capture of a murderer and the revelation of a dishonest laird. In the small town of Ardour where Chip is visiting, he and Neil immediately join the chase after Red Dougal, hiding in the heath near a ruined abbey. It's soon evident that he's not the only target, for Laird Morton's son Murdoch is shifty-eyed- and after scuffles and a bit of international understanding- it's discovered that the bankrupt laird has been stealing for Murdoch's education and using Red Dougal's presence to hide his cache in the abbey. Highland fling.
