PAUL REVERE'S BOSTON: 1735-1818

The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has got up a redoubtable exhibit on the Boston of Paul Revere's time, handsomely captured in this leisurely volume: cabinetry, needlework, portraits, silverwork (by Revere and such 18th century smiths as John Hurd and Benjamin Buret), some of Revere's rare engravings, contemporary representations of Revolutionary battle scenes. Chronologically presented, with lively and informative descriptive material.
