SOUTHERN HORIZONS

An optimistic picture of the future of the South and a technical appraisal of her struggle for industrial revolution, despite a hangover of the South, unreconstructed, both politically and economically. The author sees a thread of hope in the leaders encouraging development of chemurgic products from linseed and cottonseed oils, ramie, lignin, rosin, etc. The vast stores of hydroelectric power are being exploited -- money is being put back into flood control, soil conservation, reclamation, education, and above all, research. The South is determined to give the North a race for prosperity.
