THE PACKAGE DEAL

A fast shuffle through TV struggles concerns Jerry Moore, a has-been writer for moving pictures, who is hired by Pat Burke and gambles a trip to California to take the job. He finds he is to make up for others' failures in trying to get a strip, Mister Detective, on film -- and on a chocatring. To hold on to his to come back, he practises the necessary art of throat cutting and learns to when he works up to producer. But he stumbles over the luscious place of , Marianne Delaine, whose possibilities lure the flesh peddlers. Moore's old agent, Tanbaum, declares war; a shooting between the two backers Moore into trying to retrieve something from the ruins, but instead he gets Eda, whom he has always level, to marry him. An idea for a new show, the chance to sell it -- which somes through Tanbaum, via Eda, and there he is with another Marianns Delaine type for his leading lady...Doesn't get out of the small time.
