THE CROW AND MRS. GADDY

To get back at the crow for eating her grains of corn, Mrs. Gaddy sows white pebbles in their place; to get even With Mrs. Gaddy for tricking him, the crow pulls the clothespins from her clean laundry. And so begins a summer of mutual trick-playing--to the point that Mrs. Gaddy has no time for her house and garden, and the crow has no time for a wife and family. When she has come to rue the time she's wasted on the crow, he steals her eyeglasses--and she, taking him for a ""big black smut,"" causes him some painful second thoughts too. But no sooner does each remember a good joke on the other than they're ready to start all over again. Perky--especially as pictured--but also pat and obvious.
