KIRKUS REVIEW

For the Hogben fans and all those brainy people who love to get themselves extricably wound up in numbers, here are more mathematical mazes and amazes. There are some tricks with match sticks, how to win at billiards (by being ""up"" on your laws of incidence and reflection), odd facts about our versatile binary system, fancy and foreign counting systems, ""goes into's"" and the easy ways out of them, the mathematical or just plain ""easy"" way to do things. And while Dr. Bakst is witty about his ticklers, he is serious too and not the least of us will come out with a new and pleasant insight into the queen of science.
