KIRKUS REVIEW

The Cloisters in New York's Fort Tryon park provide a unique setting for a double killing tied up with the decisions regarding the authenticity of a newly acquired treasure, an ancient cloister from a bombed monastery in Italy. Plenty of suspects, a bit of blackmail, a cleverly conceived hoax as to the linking of suspects to crime keeps the reader absorbed until a professor, much too deeply involved for his own comfort, turns amateur detective and uses scientific procedure to arrive at the right answer.
