KIRKUS REVIEW

A rebuilding before the reader's eyes of AbbÉ Dimnet's boyhood and youth, of the years of gestation as it were, when he was out of the world of active things, and growing in mind and spirit, as well as body. His schooling, his home life, his background of a typical village of Provincial France, the details of the household, the school, the training for the priesthood. Honest, intensely human, delicately humorous, faintly nostalgic. The AbbÉ has a host of followers, through his philosophical books; this will bring him close as a human being, a friendly spirit.
