THE FIVE INTERPRETATIONS OF JESUS

As Minister of a large Unitarian Church in Toledo, Ohio, the author preached these sermons. Later, before his retirement, he was in charge of The Church of the Disciples in Boston where Unitarianism and Intellect have long been synonomous. The five interpretations dealt with here are: Jesus of Nazareth, the prophet; Jesus of Bethlehem, the Messiah; Jesus of Antioch, the Word; Jesus of Nicea, the Deity; and Jesus of the Modern Mind, the Brother and Guide. To Unitarians and Trinitarians alike these studies reveal a novel approach, appealing to reason and mind as well as presenting an argument for the broad view, a tolerance and understanding of different church groups.
