KIRKUS REVIEW

Mediocre modern Graustarkian yarn -- which attempts to go modern via the Cavalcade formula, with smashing headline treatment of the shifting world scene. The story is that of a rebellious princess in a southwestern Germany principality immediately before the war. And of her ill-fated passion for her Russian-American music teacher (shades of Bittersweet). And of what war and revolution and civil war did to bring ultimate release ... Unimportant and second rate.
