KIRKUS REVIEW

This should prove invaluable to the new and young officer, still groping his way through the maze of procedure and detail -- and for the officer who has been on the reserve and is now back in harness, and seeking a quick comeback and a quicker catching up with the procession. It is all here, -- organization, staff and staff duties, forms for orders and reports, uniforms and equipment and insignia (and even the care of said equipment), drills and ceremonies (how to be right without an Emily Post at the elbow). Then there are the formalities of correspondence, of paper work -- an arduous task following set patterns. The appendix gives the Selective Service Act in full, includes an excellent list of books for a military library -- Public Libraries please note for reference shelves, and Bookshops please note as a suggestion for plus business. Outline history of Army History. Circulars available.
