A mildly touching poem, or rather a long letter in verse, about the rigors and difficulties of living in England now. Beginning on a rather desperate note, the author works through her woes to a spirit of high courage and faith. The versification is clear and limpid if not distinguished, and the descriptions are bright and concrete if not truly vital, the tone unpretentious and sincere. The most remarkable qualities are the ease and high level of even pedestrian efforts at versifying in English writers. Limited market.
