A rather ordinary tale of ""a smallish boy not quite eleven"" who became a knight is narrated in lively, foot-thumping rhymes. The elongated, regal figures (familiar in the Weisgard pictures) in red and muted browns, reflect the dignity of the small boy, but unfortunately the artist's portrayal of Kevin is weak and uninspired compared to the surrounding figures.
