It's a controlled vocabulary for a captive audience. It sticks to the early history of the Girl Scout movement , the goals of the founders and the difficulties encountered -- the Boy Scouts weren't all that welcoming and the Camp Fire Girls stayed in their own tepees. It's the idea of a uniform that often has the initial appeal, and this has a long section on how the uniform was arrived at.
