OVER 50- SO WHAT!

By

Publisher: Doubleday

Regarde- Hildegarde, the supper club chanteuse who immortalized I Love Paris, and those remembering will be surprised to find her opening here with kinder cenen in New Holstein which have a gemutlich German inflection. But then- her charm is truly cosmopolitan. It doesn't come over quite as well in this book which is chiefly feminine beauty culture, with a good deal about clothes, make-up, speech, dieting, exercise (and what one's to do), although there is an equal emphasis on health as well as appearance. The end result is an all-over astringent, a little grooming, a little morale building, a little name dropping, and a smattering of religion at the close to improve the spiritual as well as physical tone of what an only be a feminine readership.
