FREDERIC REMINGTON

Peter and Raboff's attention is all on the documentary and ""storytelling"" aspects of Remington's paintings and sculpture; readers' attention, as in previous entries in the series, will be distracted if not discombobulated by the upper case text which bursts at random into color--a brown ""love for the West,"" a red ""listening,"" a blue ""manual dexterity."" Here the dull bronze tones of the dismal full page reproductions make the lollipop typography seem all the sillier.
