KIRKUS REVIEW

....meet when Ann is escaping the pressing command performances demanded by her fiance's mother who is afraid of the scandal connected with Ann's brother, Paul, smeared by the suspicion of stealing another professor's formula. Since Ann is a nurse she is more than willing to help Dr. Victor Macy, who hung out his shingle back home to help his Indiana neighbors, and through the lives of the Clevelands, the Carters, the Montgomerys and others Ann and Vic live in their work. But Vic is pursued by city Cynthia; Paul is cleared; Ann sets a date for her marriage -- and polio strikes Vic's community. This is the green light for Ann to head for Indiana and Vic. A placebo.
