It makes a rather frightening picture for the unskilled and while the book is not strong enough by itself to keep a dropout from dropping, it can keep a waverer wavering. A number of the science/technical jobs--computer programming, designing, managing, etc. are outlined with ready reference value in the information offered on required schooling and probable placement. The lovely/sad thing about being very young is that the next ten years are so often so much less important than the next ten minutes--this book has the sobering, steadying statistics and some attractive possibilities to offer.
