KIRKUS REVIEW

Well, hardly ever- for Mr. Paradis in his book on jobs for girls would start them earning whenever the yen for extra money drives them to brownie making, baby sitting or errand running. He discusses the philosophical aspects -- working for the joy of it and for added income, then goes on to enumerate the personal attitudes- respect, self confidence, etc. that contribute to success, whether in working for others or being one's own boss. He points out the advantages and disadvantages of each and discusses (a bit prematurely it might seem) the rudiments of setting up a business. His list of jobs stretches from journalism to collecting worms. Sound personal economics are presented with that spark that kindles. Designed for the teens and up.
