Ted Smith used his wits and judo to defend himself and his family's standing in Sundale, Minn. A local mayoralty contest made rivals of the boys, and Ted's troubles increased when his friend Hugo, a reckless driver, took advantage of local corrupt politics to evade a traffic violation charge. Justice prevailed when rival Bruce Tate succumbed to the skill Ted had acquired with long weeks of arduous judo preparation. Small town Americana well presented with a keen eye for boys and their sense of values.
