KIRKUS REVIEW

The setting, an island off coastal Devon and Cornwell -- the time, 1934, and the immediate arena a resort hotel housing various and sundry people whose emotional inter-twining makes for violence and sudden death. One woman, the object of the entire gamut of the passions, is killed and vacationing Poirot beats the local police to a surprise solution. Fast paced, but less original than And Then There Were None.
