THE LITTLE RED SCHOOL HOUSE

The ""considered conclusion"" of some twenty years of pioneer work in modern education. The school, designated as ""the little red school house"" was a unit within the New York public school system, for years, and during that time proved that the new education could be applied in crowded city schools. Some tenets of progressive theory gave way before them; new lines of approach and development of teaching methods grew of it. This is the story of the experiment, from nursery school through Junior High, with blueprints of curri, unique special classes for over and under privileged, for the crafts, the techniques of the three 'R's, the trips, the acts, the summer camp; the parents and teachers and graduates; the newly organized High School. interest to all concerned with public (or private) schools.
