NO LIFE FOR A LADY

You've probably noted this from reviews -- so this is just underlining it as good biography for the teens. A novel approach to the West of the best tradition, by a woman who knew from childhood, the daily round of a cattle ranch, and who took her share of responsibility. A vigorous personal record, a kaleidoscope of the passing West, lots of good anecdotal material about cattle rust lers, desperadoes, etc. Boys will like it as well as girls.
