THE SACRED JOURNEY by Ahmad Kamal

THE SACRED JOURNEY

Out of his grave concern over the dichotomy between Islam and the conduct, living conditions, and practices of Muslims all over the world today (many of whom are living in bondage), the author devotes his book to the ""duty of Pilgrimage"", which is one of the five cardinal points of Islam. Divided into two parts, the first and longest deals with ""The Sacred Journey to Makkah""; the second, ""The Sacred Journey to Madinah and Jerusalem"". In each case, Kamal presents explicit and detailed, practical directions for the journeying Muslim pilgrim, together with all of the appropriate prayers and laws for each phase of the pilgrimages. Non-Muslims, who are barred from Makkah by law, should find it especially interesting to read the history and legends which are the bases of the rituals and ceremonies of ""The Sacred Journey"", while Muslims will find it a completely authentic and comprehensive guide.
