KIRKUS REVIEW

The story of Simon Peter from his meeting with Christ on the Sea of Galilee to his final reunion with the crucified Lord, this story embraces most of the familiar episodes as related in the Gospels. It is with an almost miraculous consistency that Aileen Fisher robs her story of its grandeur and intensity, employing a style and scope more congenial to a mechanical teen-age romance than to anything remotely resembling the biblical original. This attempt to bring the life of Peter into modern context fails on the most basic point for in impoverishing the style and texture of the original, the immensity of the story is lost, where more faithful adaptation despite ""archaisms"", have made their impact for the past two-thousand years.
