When a woman is murdered outside Our Lady of Hope Monastery, Sister Agatha comes to the rescue.

Before she was killed, Jane Sanchez phoned Sister Agatha about something that was bothering her but refused to discuss it. Jane was a bit of a shrew who was determined to break up her daughter’s marriage. So why did the killer, who came and left on a bicycle, scratch the message “You’re Next, Nun” on a car door? Agatha’s friend Sheriff Tom Green is following up all leads, even those that suggest Deputy Bennett, Jane’s hated son-in-law, is hiding something. When the monastery's new extern Sister Jo is lured out with a fake phone call, she sees a deputy and another man meeting and apparently passing some sort of package. Is Bennett on the take or paying off a hit man? Although Agatha is run off the road and more threatening missives arrive, she’s determined to find the killer even without the help of the sheriff, who’s being pressured to keep Agatha out of police business. Her skills as a former reporter come in handy as she winkles out tiny bits of information which, together with divine aid, eventually lead to success.

Sister Agatha’s latest case offers a more exciting mystery than several of her others (Prey For A Miracle, 2006, etc.).
