A woman's story, this somewhat nostalgic tale of a girl's boarding school at the turn of the century. The story is told by the school's littlest pitcher with the biggest ears, looking backward from maturity to romance and intrigue, walled in by the school. There is the romance of the young French teacher and the sculptor; there is a sophisticated young shrew who is chief trouble maker in the school, the scheming Minette who meets the boys after hours and who eventually precipitates the crisis by leading a group of girls to a forbidden church social. Light tale, gracefully handled, but without very wide appeal. Zoe Akins is the well known dramatist.
