KIRKUS REVIEW

Many of the stories here appeared earlier in Boys Life. There are popular authors too- B.J. Chute, Tom Person, Charles Coombs, Howard M. Brier and others. But they didn't seem at all amusing to us. Or well written. The situations described are improbable situations setting up straight men for predictable custard-pie comedowns. Almost all the stories center on the adolescent male at odds with the universe, his family, his peers. But they all have a hollow ring of forced laughter. Tasteless. There is surely a place for a well-done collection of comic material.
