TEEN-AGE GREAT RESCUE STORIES

The ten stories collected here deal with sea, land and air rescue operations. Some have heroes and some have heroines, making this a rather chancy offering to readers in their upper teens. Some of the stories come from Boys' life and American Girl indicating a younger audience than the book's title would imply. The crisis in each story concerns the sacrifice the teen-ager involved must choose to make in order to be of service to others. In some cases it is no more than a date given up to help out during a plane crash and in others, especially the stories set at sea, it is life itself. Unsophisticated, easy, formula reading.
