GLOUCESTER JOE

A not very successful attempt to pack a good deal of information about the Gloucester waterfront into a story, along routine lines, of an inland seven year old who goes to visit his aunt in Gloucester and learns about life among the fishing folk from a nine year old Italian lad, Gloucester Joe. As a story it is slow in getting under way. Nice quality and lots of local color in the three color illustrations.
