KIRKUS REVIEW

Dal Timgar, not of this earth, not even of this galaxy, has wanted all his life to be a doctor. But his ambition places in jeopardy the right of the earth members of the Galactic Confederation to stay within the organization since membership is allowed only to the productive, and it is only in the field of medical society that humans excel. If Dal can be used as a test case proving that other galaxies are equally capable in medicine, the earth may well be ousted. Dal's struggle to win the status of a surgeon involves much imaginative manipulation of medical and astronomical detail in a story which is suspenseful from start to finish.
