KIRKUS REVIEW

More adventures of Reed Conroy, Deputy Border Patrol, still on crutches from his last assignment. He steps in where the FBI and the Army Intelligence have failed to find enemy agents transmitting military information from a nearby army camp. Reed spots the desert hideout in a rock, is trapped there and doped, gets through to the Border Patrol and eventually, with Senior Deputy Carter and Chombo, his faithful Mexican retainer, nabs the Axis operators and the microfilm hidden in the shell of a King Turti. May not be elevating, but it is darned good reading.
