Entertaining and well-written story of how the Conroys became innocently involved in some strange goings-on when they arrived at the desert ranch their family had taken, sight unseen. Each of the three has some hand in solving the mystery, and in helping the Border Patrol capture the men who have been smuggling gold and drugs using the ranch as cache. Even the improbabilities are made convincing.
