THE CHURCH AND SOCIAL WELFARE by Alan Keith-Lucas

THE CHURCH AND SOCIAL WELFARE

By

Publisher: Westminster

This is one of a series giving ""Christian Perspectives on Social Problems"". These volumes are designed to help laymen to think theologically about issues that relate to life in America and issues that link America to the world. In the area of social welfare a clear and strong word needs to be spoken to help the Protestant Churches correct the confusion and error which has so often clouded and impeded their approach to these matters. Dr. Alan Keith-Lucas, Professor of Social Work at the University of North Carolina, speaks just such a word. He laments the fact that the humanists have so often surpassed Christians in the effective expression of love toward their fellow man, and insists that this should not be so. Theology is very much a part of this problem, and the truest insights of theology must be brought to bear by those best qualified to do so. This is an admirable book to be given to those who so blindly and mistakenly insist that the Church should ""stay out of secular affairs.
