USELESS COWBOY

Modern, mettlesome tale of the mesquite, and a definite variation on that theme, as Melody, wandering cowboy, not too handy with a gun, is taken for an outlaw, Monte Jarrad, and used by the real Monte to draw off a posse. Meeting Cherry, Monte's girl, Melody continues to front for Monte for her sake, until Monte, cornered, shoots Melody's crony and Melody goes into action. But it is Cherry who fires the shot that kills Monte, and writes ""happy ending"" to the tale. New slant.
