Might be considered as a sort of fictionized Asylum, in the picture of the inmate adjusting himself to the life, routine, fellow patients, and doctors in the institution. It deviates from the reportorial in the introduction of a love story between the ""guest"" and one of the staff members which ends on a high note of tragedy and surprise. Amnesia -- plus alcoholism, has put David behind walls. Only his escape to Gertrude and their passion serve to reestablish his contacts. Market -- those who liked Private Worlds -- Asylum, etc.
