If ephemeral this is also insouciant and its painless report on romance along New York's 57th Street will only amuse -- and scarcely annoy. Marty Benson, a mitty- minded TV panelist, is determined to fall in love and his attempts to win Stella Pearce via her poodle (and one of his own) affect his own career and the love affair that his roommate, Chick Hemick, is trying to promote with an unfledged interior decorator- Marathon Studios, and their West and East Coast offices, become involved as do the fathers of the girls, while Marty and Chick finally get untangled to become permanently tangled in matrimony. This will probably never replace Wodehouse, but you can feel the hero worship (and you might not have too long to wait to see it on the screen).
