The author of Grain Race and other books about the sea, gives us a wholly new type of sea adventure in this story of his sailing with the Arabs in their Dhows in the Red Sea, the Persian Gulf and other waters, round and about Africa. The sea fairly sings through the pages -- the reader gets an intimate picture of the boat and the life thereon, with all hands sleeping on deck. He grew to like the Arabs; he even took part in their smuggling. The section devoted to pearl divers is particularly interesting reveals the hardest of lives, with a high price paid by the divers, for whom he has profoundest pity. Very saleable -- one of the best things he has done.
