KIRKUS REVIEW

A story of medieval times in the tradition of Otto of the Silver Hand. Good historical adventure, which gives a vivid picture of methods of siege and warfare, and has an interesting sidelight on methods of communication through falcons and carrier pigeons. The quality of the story lies in the substance and the factual background and the plot, rather than the characters which are pretty thin. The Henry Pitz illustrations add to the authenticity and color.
