KIRKUS REVIEW

Comprehensive piece of work, consistently enlightening and authoritative. An analysis of the British Empire, past and present:- structure, colonies, administration, standards of living, industry and agriculture, policy of government, race problems. Then follows a study of the challenges of the post war period, disintegration and re-coordination. The author feels the future is problematical, but that the empire is elastic enough to withstand the forces of disunion. Library and college market.
