SPIN A SILVER DOLLAR

A pleasant and rather interesting story of a young Eastern couple, who buy a trading post on a Navaho Indian reservation and spend the few years preceding Pearl Harbor there. The chief figure of the narrative is a little Indian boy, Jimmy, who has a marked gift for the painting and drawing which was so much a part of the old Navaho culture. The young Easterners, although sophisticates, take an intelligent and sympathetic interest in the Indians and their customs and especially in Jimmy, whose talents they work hard to promote. The book is illustrated with his drawings. Agreeable reading for those interested in the Indians, the far West, and people who take a turn at ""going native"".
