KIRKUS REVIEW

Good of its kind, but one has the feeling that there have been a number of books like it, -- stories of native African boys, training for manhood, relations with animals and people, traditions, superstitions, and legends. This is East Africa, and the author evidently writes out of intimate knowledge.
