RIVETS AND SPROCKETS

To successfully combine science fiction and humor is extremely difficult; Mr. Key is only partially successful in his second ramble with robots-- the first being Sprockets- A Little Robot (1962, 1099, J-313). Each person and robot is characterized by one trait: e.g. Rivets loves to play with marbles and Mr. Bailey's shock of hair flops in all directions when he becomes excited. The plot rattles and clanks on and on, as Mr. Bailey and his robots roam through outer space on a purple saucer. While these devices will seem ordinary to some, others will be amused by the naive humor.
