KIRKUS REVIEW

Feeling that the dry fly in Western America has been sadly neglected in literature, Mr. Macdonald aims to right this wrong. Entertaining as well as instructive, this combines the necessary pointers on fly fishing, including tying your own flies, to inclusion of many amusing anecdotes based on his own experiences. One excursion took Mr. Macdonald and his family to New Zealand, where the trout were supposedly bigger and better. But for the most part, the background is the western trout stream.
