THE SINGING SWANS by Alexandra Manners

THE SINGING SWANS

By

Pub Date: Oct. 15th, 1975
Publisher: Putnam

The third one of Miss Manners' thanklessly complicated Gothic stories which commutes between Paris and the Hebrides and leaves young Meraud wondering whether her vain, actress mother has been killed by the intruder in the cape who might be her father. And can she ever learn to trust the exiled widow, Madame Rohaise, only too anxious to take care of them both? Full of local legends about the Night of the Bride and changelings and swans that sing before they die to increase the general busyness and apprehension but the only time you'll open your mouth is to yawn.
