Horror upon horrors--this novel by Dumas père, translated in English for the first time, begins during the French Revolution (dark days for the King and Queen while Doctor Guillotine contends his invention is pain-free) and transmigrates to Central Europe where one of the ""living dead"" shrouds the countryside with terror. There is a short introduction by Dennis Wheatley and this is an addition to his Library of the Occult.
