SELECTIVE SERVICE: A Guide to the Draft

This explanation of the mechanics of the Selective Service Act and its operation through 84 Federal Districts gives step-by-step procedural data on the four steps awaiting the young man who reaches 18:- registration, classification, examination and delivery for induction. Although this informs the prospective inductes of the paper work awaiting him, of the differences between local boards, of the relative importance of several factors in his background, the author has devoted too great a proportion of a relatively short book to telling how he came to write it. Probably more young men would find Draftee's Confidential, on the adult list, of broader interest, (Indiana University Press, p. 515.)
