KIRKUS REVIEW

High school students already leaning toward a career in science may stick with this, although the style is not particularly engaging. Under discussion are the kinds of scientists; the similarities and differences between the scientist and the engineer; the social sciences; how science relates to art; and science, morality and public policy. A ""Day in the Life of A Scientist"" gives what is calculated to be an unglamorous picture, but its hectic activity might well scare off the timid.
