ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS: Stories to be Read with the Lights On

A summum bonum gatherum of 37 stories from all sources (one or two are originals) presided over by the Presence and including as many unfamiliar names as those you well know. Roald Dahl's marvelous The Landlady is here; Ron Goulart has a horrific wind-up for his story of a ""Granny"" Moses; Barry Malzberg's ""Agony Column"" is a very catchy conceit; then there's a fine variant of ""The Monkey's Paw"" in Rose Healey's ""The Box""; Fredric Brown, William McGivern's long police action, Berkely Mather, William Nolan and Harold Q. Masur with a trial teledrama are all among the better known professionals and since this represents the best of many seasons, it's a far better choice than one of those perennial annuals.
